Friendshipisms

Time doesn't determine how good or genuine a friend is. Its the content of the relationship within that time period. You can go years thinking that someone is your friend only to find out that the person wasn't a true friend, just someone you talk to but ultimately can't truly confide in. Maybe that's what distinguishes a "friend" from a "best friend". Deep down I think its a weird way to categorize friends. How does it work like do you have average friends, good friends and then best friends and then super mega awesome friends....? Friends are continually changing, coming and going. I can count the number of best friends I've had on both my fingers and toes. Suffice it to say, I've had a lot. Each different and unique and awesome in their own way. I don't recall coming to an agreement with any of them stating that we'd be best friends. It was just an unspoken event where we just dubbed each other as "best". I think on some occasions I might've even considered a friend a "best friend" without even knowing for sure whether they also thought of me as a "best friend".
I think I'm over thinking this..

Napoleon Dynamite: So we're pretty much friends by now, right?
Pedro: Yes.
Napoleon Dynamite: So you got my back and everything, right?
Pedro: What?
Napoleon Dynamite: Never mind.
